Hello all! I have a few anvils I haven't been able to figure out much on, but I'll just start with these. This first one is obviously in pretty bad shape... There is no name on it (not anymore at least). I don't have an accurate weight, but I'd guess around 120-130lbs from just moving it around. It has these weird lug type protrusions on one side of the feet...They look like they could have been longer (probably back when it had a flat face..). Horn is very square towards the body. Any thoughts?
I couldn't get a good shot of the Mouse Hole with the current lighting... but clear enough to get an idea. It also has "DICK" stamped on one part. The anvil weighs in over 160lb, but the exact stamped number on the side has been lost- appears slightly melted almost.

Your anvil is from Mouse Hole Forge in Sheffield England. Looks to be missing the top plate. Shop door stop or buoy anchor. |

Thank you Ken. The Mousehole does have most of the plate- though it seems hard to tell in the photos...but it is extremely worn. I'm mostly curious about the DICK: marking and if it is of any significance. Any thoughts on the first anvil? |

Nothing I can determine on it. |
