Ok, so i have about 5 old knives off of a large tree chipper (like the ones you see the city works guys use)and they're just sitting there, begging to be pounded into something useful. (the knives, not the city works guys ) Does anyone know what kind of steel is typically in these things? the spark profile is showing some kind of alloy and they are just about as hard as hard can be. i'd appreciate if someone could tell me what alloys these usually are and how to handle them if it's not too much trouble. thanks Will McDonald |
