There is a Smithsonian Institution Exhibit on tour right now called "Between Fences". It is presently in Delaware City DE. A group of local Smiths (DE, PA, MD, NJ, VA, & NY) got together and fabricated a section of fence to be installed in the town park to commemorate the exhibit. The requirements were to fab. a picket 36 in. tall and no more than 3 in. wide. The group gathered in Kerry Rhoads' shop, Forged Creations, assembled and installed the fence. attached is the result of their work. |

John, the section of fence we assembled is permanently installed in the Park in Delaware City Delaware. Delaware City is located on the Delaware end of the C&D Canal just South of Newcastle. The park is at the ferry landing that goes out to Fort Delaware, an early 1800's fort in the middle of the Delaware River that was used as a prison during the Civil War. A neat place to visit if you are in the area. |

I like the heron picket a lot! The snaffle bit picket is interesting too. A lot of variation there ... plenty to think about! |
