I am trying to date an old anvil, it weighs 27lb,is 10"long, 71/2"high. We have one blacksmith in the family, Christoph Stoetzel, who arrived in the US 1855 and worked in Newark, NJ. He was born in Prussia in 1833. We believe the anvil may have come from Prussia with him

Continental anvils often had two horns opposite each other, one rounded and one pyramidal. Is yours like that?
