Hello.
I am having some Stainless 316 Heli-arc welded.
Is there a way to chemically remove the carbon/heat mark that remains after welding?
I tried scotch bright pads.
They work but I do not like the look of the resulting marks.
Unfortunately this in not a project I can spend a lot of time on.
Any Ideas?

I'm new to this site, but have you tried sodium bisulfate? It's a "pickle" solution I've used to remove heat marks from copper. You can find it in bulk at places like Home Depot. It's used to treat swimming pools and is dirt cheap.
