LeeAnn Mitchell comes to ABANA with over twenty years of experience in arts administration. Previous experience includes serving as Public Art Assistant to the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games in 1996 and as Associate Curator for the University of Tennessee Sculpture Tour in Knoxville. Along with serving as the Executive Director of the Central Office for ABANA, LeeAnn is also a curator specializing in metal. She has served as Curator-Special Projects for the The Metal Museum in Memphis, Tennessee and has been involved with projects such as Forging Character, Forging Iron: The Work of Thomas F. Googerty. She recently organized and served as co-juror of an exhibition of cast iron art entitled Contemporary Cast Iron, held at The Metal Museum in 2005. In 2007 she will serve as co-juror, with Suzanne Pugh, for an exhibition that will be part of the SNAG Conference in Memphis, Tennessee entitled The New Steel.

LeeAnn is a professional sculptor and painter with over eighty exhibitions nationwide. She resides in Farmington, Georgia with her husband and fellow sculptor Jim Buonaccorsi, and chickens too numerous to name.
